Welcome to Part 3, the final installment of my Pajama Jeans review (and check out Part 1 and Part 2 if you need to catch up).
Note: the Pajama Jeans hem is folded under for the purposes of my review; they are 4-5″ too long. And I am not wearing any body shaping underwear (for better or for worse).
These “jeans,” which may be better described as comfy pants, are indeed comfortable. Per the commercial, they have a soft lining and are stretchy.
BUT the sloppy leg is unforgiving from the front and back. And a minor complaint is that the pocket size does not seem proportionate to the size of the jeans.
For comparison’s sake, I put on my favorite pair of jeans from DKNY – the petite SOHO jean in a black wash.
Based on the photos, the more fitted leg of the DKNY jeans (which had been worn a few times after wash/before this photo was taken) is more slimming and flattering.
I did not wear the Pajama Jeans around at all but as you can see the leg is already baggy. The smaller size was uncomfortably tight at the waist but may have been more flattering on the leg. That said, I did have concerns about the material holding their shape after washing and wearing.
Again, from the back, the baggy leg does not make my legs as long and lean as the DKNY.
So what is my final recommendation?
I decided not to keep them for the following reasons:
- Because the construction quality, finish and general vibe of the pants would not be appropriate for work.
- Because I am petite and need to focus on clothing that makes me look taller and slimmer.
- Because I have a drawer full of loungewear that I love and did not feel the same love for these pants.
- Because they would require another $20 to get them hemmed.
That said, here are some reasons you may want to try a pair for yourself:
- Because you have always wanted to own a potential conversation piece.
- Because you have searched the ends of the earth and have not found a pair of lovable comfy pants to save your life.
- Because you just can’t help yourself.

Tee hee hee…love your reasons someone may want to buy them. Great series!
Thanks Jenny!
I am SO glad you reviewed these! I love “comfy pants”, but I also wondered if the clingy fit who show my *ahem* “cottage cheese” areas. I am thinking they WOULD. Thanks for the review!
Thanks…I worked really hard to keep an open mind!
They really didn’t look as bad as I thought they would….Thanks so much for the review!
You are very welcome! They were slightly better than expected. It was fun to see them in person and give them a go.
Great review. I judged them as not for me when I first saw the commercial. Your post confirmed my suspicions. :) No pajama jean for me! (At least not until I’ve totally given up hope of looking stylish.)
I love that you are actively avoiding the “I give up” style. It’s working!
